Elle (my roommate) and I woke up bright and early to go style watching as celebrities, bloggers, and models went to the Self Portrait show. We, naturally, dressed up in our most Self Portrait-esque ensembles and giddily stood on the sidewalk across the one which was being trodden by the show-goers. It was about 9:50 and the show was supposed to start at 10:00, so we didn’t expect to see anyone we knew coming at that time. But within a few minutes of standing there, we saw a handful of our favorite bloggers arrive fashionably late, of course. Danielle Bernstein from weworewhat.com donned a navy dress and black blazer, (sidenote: I almost wore this SAME outfit that day…), Camila Coelho from camilacoelho.com rocked monochromatic red, and my favorite style blogger, Aimee Song from songofstyle.com, looked beautiful in a long pink dress and cowgirl boots. It was so surreal seeing Aimee because she is actually the person who inspired me to start a blog in the first place; honestly, I might not even be where I am now, studying fashion in NYC, if I hadn’t have stumbled across her blog. Not only does she have an amazing sense of style and creativity flow, she is also one of the most genuine and honest bloggers I’ve ever seen; which is exactly what I aspire to be.
I also just wanted to apologize in advance for the lack of fashion day posts. I originally wanted to do one once a day, but I got sick the second day of fashion week and it put a damper on some of my plans. So I’m posting as often as I can and starting to finally feel better! Anyways, on to my outfits for day 3…
For my morning outfit, I wore this floral button up blouse (similar here) under a French Connection dress (similar here) and accessorized with my favorite shoes atm, my white Dolce Vita boots, and the purse you’ve been seeing me wear EVERYWHERE, my leopard Kate Spade bag.
For my night look, I emulated the 80’s throwback look by pairing a Zara leopard shirt (can you tell what my favorite trend is yet?) with faux leather leggings (similar here), a black belt (similar here), silver clutch (similar here), and, shocker, my white Dolce Vita booties.
Our plan was to take some pictures at the Flatiron, eat pasta at Eataly, an adorable Italian marketplace/restaurant hub, and then head to a fashion show. But we ended up actually being too late to the show (apparently fashionably late only applies to couture shows?) and just headed home. Although the latter end of the day was not quite as exciting, it was still fun getting to dress up and enjoy fashion week.
