There are a lot of new trends inching their way into this summer. Much of which don’t fit in my budget, of course, but that doesn’t mean I can’t show you guys my favorite of the bunch.
I included a few street style inspiration pics for ideas of how to style these trends. I also made a Spring Trend Lookbook a few weeks ago when I applied to be a Nordstrom Fashion Ambassador. (Which I am now! Yay!) I uploaded the video to YouTube but it was taken down for copyright purposes…oops. I was going to try to attach it here but the site won’t let me. If you guys really want to see that, though, I will try and find a way to get it up, just let me know!
Asymmetrical tops are in, one of the few 80s trends I like. Stripes are also making a moment right now. (when are they not?) But what makes this outfit so enviable is that she decided to go for double the volume, rather than just playing up her skirt or top.
Last year was all about mirrored sunglasses, and the colored lenses have returned this year, but this time with a more translucent look. Yellow is one of the biggest colors for this trend, and matching your sunglasses with another piece, like this cute jacket, helps to create even more of a statement.
Checkered prints! They’re everywhere. At this point, I could probably wear a picnic table cover as a skirt and blend in with the rest of the bloggers. I love the casual take on this outfit, though, that pairing it with a graphic tee gives.
I couldn’t do an inspiration post without my favorite blogger, Aimee Song. She incorporates two trends into this look with her asymmetrical top and violet colored sunnies. Go look at her blog, Song of Style, for more details on this outfit.
I didn’t include as many looks as I normally would since I was expecting to upload my video. But since that won’t work, I’ll tell you the trends I styled. In my lookbook video I styled 3 different trends:the first one incorporated statement earrings and a take on the white shirt trend, the second was mix and matched stripes which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I actually loved the look, and the third was styled after the romantic trend I’ve been loving.
